Ibanez Roadstar 2 Guitar

A Strat style guitar that doesn't feel much like a Strat, which is what sets it apart from the rest (I do love Strats, but variety is neat). The overall feel is larger and the neck reminds me of an SG. Good rocker. The whammy setup is a bit crummy but don't let that stop you. The fret work is nice and the tones are versatile. The blade humbucker is hot, yet still a good match for the two single coil pickups.
Ibanez Roadstar 2 guitar
My good friend, Mike Ybarra, used this Roadstar 2 in two of the bands in which we've played together and for one of our hottest recording sessions. He doesn't use the Ibanez so often anymore since he bought the PRS Custom 24 in '96. His main amp is a Mesa Boogie Maverick 1x12" Combo and occasionally it's complemented by the Korg G3 effects processor. Here's what he has to say:

"My Ibanez was purchased in Germany in 1985, about $450 new, and I have played it all over the world. Not the best guitar in the world, but it takes a beating and keeps on playing. It has been played once by George Benson, and he autographed the pickguard (still visible but fading). This guitar can cover any style of music with no problems."
